Demand for Pakistani products increasing all over the world: Reza Baqir
He said that Pakistan did not suffer due to better measures during the epidemic.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Raza Baqir has said that Pakistan did not suffer much due to better measures taken during the coronavirus epidemic.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, he said that as a result of immediate steps taken by the government, Pakistan was safe from bankruptcy and negative effects to its economy and now the demand for Pakistani products is increasing all over the world.
The SBP governor said that the central bank was working with private banks and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to facilitate housing loans on easy terms to boost economic activities and create employment opportunities.
Baqir went on to say that in the light of the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government was taking effective steps to develop the housing and construction sector. For these steps, the SBP was assisting private banks.
Referring to the severe decline of the Indian economy, he said that Pakistan did not suffer due to better measures during the epidemic. As a result of the immediate steps taken by the SBP, Pakistan was safe from bankruptcy and adverse effects.
He said that as the demand for Pakistani products is increasing in the world and our exporters are getting orders, we should focus on increasing the rate of national production through our exports.
