1.7 mln metric tons imported wheat to arrive in Pakistan by January next year: Fakhar
Private sector has also started importing the wheat: Fakhar
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam says the government has imported wheat to overcome the shortage of 1.7 million tons and it would arrive in Pakistan by January next year.
Speaking at a webinar in Islamabad, he said the private sector has also started importing the wheat and it would alleviate the problem further.
Fakhar Imam said that the government will encourage and support the small farmers by providing research based timely information regarding seeds and climatic vagaries.
