Weekly report: Rupee depreciates in interbank, gold up by Rs4100
The price of the greenback increased by 14 paisa
KARACHI (Web Desk) - The US dollar gained value against the Pakistani rupee in the both interbank and open market while gold price increased by Rs4100 per tola during the outgoing week.
According to details, the price of the greenback increased by 14 paisa in the interbank market, closing at Rs166.35. During the outgoing week value of riyal and dihram remained unchanged in open market.
Dollar, in open market, was at 167 rupees while dirham remained at 45.10 rupees and riyal at 44.10 rupees. Euro in open market increased by Re1 to 187.50 rupees while Pound also experienced an increase of Rs3 to 211 rupees.
On the other hand gold price also saw an upward trend and increased by Rs4100 per tola during the outgoing week to reach price of Rs108900.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) gained 1139 points or 3.25 percent during the outgoing week and the KSE-100 Index closed at 36,190 points.
According to details, average volume per session up to 39% to around 349 million shares.
