PSX crosses 42,000 mark, KSE100 Index gains 2.4 percent.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Thursday opened on a positive note and the KSE100 Index gained 2.4 percent while recovering in aftermath of US-Iran tensions, Dunya News reported.

The KSE100 Index at 9:34 AM surged by 636 points to trade at 41,994 points and crossed the 42,000 marks afterwards. The index gained 1,017 points overall and traded around 42,284 points.

However, dollar at interbank in early trade was down by 17 paisa at around 154.90 rupees. The greenback’s value increased by 40 paisa against the rupee in the open market and traded at Rs 156.20.

It is pertinent here to mention that the PSX on Wednesday witnessed bearish trend as the KSE-100 Index fell by 546.91 points or 1.32 percent due to geo-political and regional security concerns.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange had closed at 41,357.56 points.
