IMF approves plan to support Pakistan economy.
WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved plan to support Pakistan economy, said IMF director communication Gerry Rice in a press briefing.
Gerry Rice maintained that Pakistan needs to mobilize domestic tax revenue and improve tax collection to trim fiscal deficit. Improvement in revenue will help support social and development spending, he added.
It has further been informed that an IMF team – including area director Jihad Azur – will visit Pakistan in next few days. Furthermore, acting Managing Director met Prime Minister Imran Khan and emphasized upon improving tax collection.
