Sheikh Rasheed invites Korean companies to invest in Pakistan
He said Pakistan aims to benefit from the professional experience of Korea.
(Web Desk) – Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed has invited Korean companies to invest in the rail infrastructure of Pakistan.
He spoke to his South Korean counterpart Huang Seong Kyu and asserted that the country wanted to transform Pakistan Railways into a modern transport entity on the pattern of South Korea.
He said Pakistan aims to benefit from the professional experience of Korea.
Rasheed said Pakistan was undertaking a project to upgrade its 1872 kilometer railway track from Karachi to Peshawar in next five years. He invited Korean private companies to become part of the mega project.
The minister further maintained that Pakistan Railways has been working to connect Gwadar port with other cities of Pakistan through rail network. “We are also planning to link our railway network with the European rail network through Turkey and China.”
He told Mr Kyu that Pakistan has become an investment friendly country under an honest leadership.
