Govt committed to ease business environment for foreign investors: PM Khan

(Web Desk) – Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that the federal government was committed to provide ease in business affairs for foreign investors, and streamlining the existing regulatory framework for investment to avoid wastage of time and resources for the prospective investors.

The premier held a meeting with a delegation of prominent Chinese investors hailing from about 100 Chinese companies led by Javed Afridi in Lahore.

The PM reiterated that the government would make it easier for Chinese companies to capitalise huge investment potential of Pakistan.

“China is our close ally and friend, and it has always been there to support us,” he stated.

The investors expressed their deep interest in different sectors of economy, including investment in the industrial projects, especially in Gujrat, Gujranwala and Sialkot.

Meanwhile, PM Khan directed the Punjab Police to immediately take steps to arrest elements involved in major crimes in the province.

The PM expressed these views during a briefing given by the Punjab Inspector General Police regarding police performance and the overall law and order situation in the province.

He said that police force should take such steps, contrary to its typical approach, aimed at facilitating the general public to have access to justice.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, provincial ministers and higher authorities of police also attended the meeting.

Earlier, PM Khan and CM Buzdar held a one-on-one meeting and discussed the overall situation of the province.

The discussion also focused on the progress of socio-economic projects in Punjab province.
