NEPRA reduces power tariff by 9 paisa per unit

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday approved a reduction in power tariff by 9 paisa per unit.
According to a notification issued, NEPRA approved a decrease of 9 paisa per unit in the price of electricity, following public hearing of an application submitted by the Central Power Purchasing Company (CPPC) which had sought an increase of 6 paisa in electricity prices under fuel adjustment mechanism for the month of June.
The tariff revision will provide a relief of Rs1.1 billion to power consumers; however, this will not be applicable on K-Electric, agricultural and lifeline consumers.
