Govt decides to release Rs200bn Sukuk bonds again
The amount of Islamic Sukuk bonds will be spent to pay the circular debt of energy sector.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Federal government on Saturday decided to issue Rs200 billion Sukuk bonds for the second time to pay the dues of circular debt in energy sector.
According to the Dunya News, the amount of Islamic Sukuk bonds will be spent to pay the circular debt of energy sector. The Ministry of Finance has convened a meeting of banks on issuance of Sukuk bonds on July 29.
According to the sources, all Islamic banks have been invited to invest in the Sukuk bonds as Sukuk bonds will help the government to achieve full power production. The government has issued Rs200 billion Sukuk bonds for the power sector before as well
