Finance Minister reviews progress on economic zones

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Finance Minister Asad Umar chaired a meeting in Islamabad to review the work progress on different economic zones in the country.
Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar was also present on the occasion.
The meeting decided that Planning Ministry will ensure necessary infrastructure arrangements for the zones which aim to promote economic activities throughout the country.
Asad Umar is also expected to preside over a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) today.
Reportedly, the ECC will formulate an agreement between the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) for fuel supply.
Furthermore, the minister will analyse reports on export of surplus wheat, and production of more gas from the Adhi Oil and Gas Field for approval.
The meeting will also discuss critical issues regarding supply of urea and other items.
