Railways to replace fleet in cooperation with ADB
ADB showed interest in up gradation of Pakistan Railways(PR).
ISLAMABAD (Online) - Railways showed interest in replacing its old fleet of locomotives and procurement of passenger and freight wagons in next 10 years with the help of Asian Development Bank.
It was discussed during a meeting between high ups of Railways and delegation of ADB delegation, that visited Ministry of Railways which was headed by Ko Sakamovo, Transport Specialist.
ADB showed interest in up gradation of Pakistan Railways(PR). It is providing technical assistance to PR through Pakistan Railways Strategic Plan (PRSP).
On the other hand Pakistan PR also showed interest in upgrading ML 2,ML 3,branch lines(Shangla and Shorkot section) and connectivity of Gawader to Besima through railway line. The meeting was attended by Javed Anwar, Chairman, Ministry of Railways, Maryam Gillani,DG Operations, Munawar Ali Shah, DG Technical and DG Planning M. Yusuf.
