Power companies propose 70-paisa hike in electricity tariff
The request pertaining to the matter has been submitted by the companies in Nepra.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Countrywide power companies have recommended 70 paisa per unit hike in electricity prices of June under fuel adjustment charges.
The request pertaining to the matter has been submitted by the companies in National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra).
The appeal adopts stance that the electricity used in the month of July was produced costly by 70 paisa per unit as compared to the provided tariff.
Hearing over the request is scheduled to be held on July 24.
In case of approval from Nepra, the decision will not be applicable on K-Electric consumers and those utilizing monthly 300 units.
Experts say that the electricity prices will possibly go up further due to the increase in crude oil prices in international market and hike in dollar price. Moreover, the cost production will also rise.
