Summary Economy is carrying burden of around Rs 19,550 billion local and foreign funds: SBP
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign debts rose about Rs 1,800 billion in the last nine months as government failed to expand tax base.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), country’s economy is carrying burden of around Rs 19,550 billion local and foreign funds. Sum of foreign debts has risen above USD 69 billion with USD 4.40 billion.
Experts have called for courageous steps by the government including taxing doctors and engineers on their incomes. They have further urged the government to include wholesale and retail dealers and people in agriculture sector in the tax net.
