Summary Dar stated that govt has set target to make economic growth reach 7 percent in next 2 years: Dar

FRANKFURT (Dunya News) – Federal Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar stated that the country’s economic growth for the ongoing year is expected to rise over 5 percent, reported Dunya News.

While giving an interview to a foreign organisation in Frankfurt, Germany, Dar stated that the current government made some bold decisions in June 2014 regarding the War against Terrorism and that many achievements have been made as a result of military operations in the country.

He said that almost $2.3 billion are expected to be spent on the ongoing operation against the militants. Referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, Dar stated that China is investing $46 billion in Pakistan and a significant portion of the total amount ($35 billion) is being spent on energy projects.

Dar stated that the government has set the target to make the economic growth reach 7 percent in the next couple of years.
