Summary Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the government has earnestly undertaken measures to assess poverty rate and firm up the data, which will help the government design its policies and interventions accordingly, the Radio Pakistan reported. 

He said this while chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review progress of work related to poverty assessment in the country.

The meeting noted that an assessment of poverty would enable the government to determine proper development objectives, including redistributive policies and Sustainable Development Goals.

The Finance Minister appreciated efforts being made for developing new methodology and collecting credible data on determining the poverty line.
