ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Government is reportedly interested in issuing more foreign bonds worth USD 1.5 billion in the coming three years, Dunya News reported Monday.
According to the Finance Ministry, the government has shown interest in issuing bonds worth USD 50 crore during 2016 and 2019.
Authorities stated that the issuance, if happens is an attempt to balance in international debts.
It should be noted here that the Euro bonds that were issued in 2006 will meet their expiration in the current month according to which the government is required to pay foreign investors USD 50 crore.
However, the bonds worth USD 75 crore which were issued in 2007 will end by 2017.
