HONG KONG (AFP) - Hong Kong stocks ended on a high Friday as energy firms rose in line with a pick-up in oil prices and following gains in New York as expectations of another US interest rate hike faded.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.55 percent, or 105.08 points, to close at 19,288.17.

In Shanghai the benchmark composite index lost 0.63 percent, or 17.53 points, to 2,763.49 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, slid 1.15 percent, or 20.37 points, to 1,750.70.
