Summary Mobile phone imports increased by eleven percent in the first two quarters
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Mobile phones and cars worth Rs 54 billion were imported in the first six months of the fiscal year (FY) 2015-16, Dunya News reported Saturday.
According to the latest statistics issued, mobile phone imports increased by eleven percent in the first two quarters of the FY 2015-16 taking the amount to Rs 39 billion.
A total of Rs 54 billion was spent on import of cars and mobile phones combined.
Experts have said that on one hand government is making efforts to increase foreign exchange reserves while on other economy is bearing losses of billions of Rupees owing to imports of cars and phones.
