Summary Currently 21 lac people are using broadband services in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday has stated that the country can boost the number of broadband users if taxes are cut.
According to the statistics, 21 lac people are using broadband services however, the number could hit 13 crore in the country.
Additional taxes are hindering communication sector’s progress. In addition to taxes, service standards, equipment prices and prize structure are other factors that are keeping the sector from growth.
The bank further stated that Pakistan ranks among the ten countries which have highest number of mobile phone users. In contrast to that, number of broadband users is quite low.
