HONG KONG (AFP) - Hong Kong stocks tracked US losses to open slightly down Thursday but Shanghai edged up, extending gains from the previous day on hopes for economic reforms.

The Hang Seng Index opened down 0.25 percent, or 58.48 points, to 22,995.09, while the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.13 percent, or 4.55 points, to 3,464.19.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, added 0.23 percent, or 4.85 points, to 2,094.14.
