HONG KONG (AFP) - Hong Kong stocks rose in early trade Thursday, tracking gains across global markets as investors welcomed the Federal Reserve s upbeat assessment of the US economy and shrugged off its hint of a December interest rate hike.

The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong added 0.27 percent, or 61.25 points, to 23,017.82.

Shanghai s composite index added 0.37 percent, or 12.57 points, to 3,387.77, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, gained 0.67 percent, or 13.44 points, to 2,011.82.
