HONG KONG (AFP) - Hong Kong stocks climbed 0.86 percent by the break Friday as dealers ended another roller-coaster week on a calm note, although there remain concerns about China s economy and a possible US interest rate hike next week.

In Hong Kong the Hang Seng Index added 184.45 points to 21,746.95.

Shanghai s benchmark composite index gave up early advances and ended the morning marginally lower, edging down 2.35 points to 3,195.54.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, edged up 0.19 percent, or 3.31 points, to 1,773.69.
