Cement sales increase by 10pc as 31pc decline in exports observed

Summary Domestic sale of cement increased by more than 10%

KARACHI (Dunya News) – An increase in economy activity caused an increase in sales of cement by 10 percent, while exports declined by 31 percent, reported Dunya News.

According to All Pakistan Cement Manufacturing Association, Iran has increased the amount of cement export to Iran while Iran is employing under-invoicing while exporting cement to Pakistan which is causing losses to national exchequer. During one month, there has been a decrease of 31% in exports. Exports to India and Afghanistan have seen a decline by 28% and 18% respectively.

Domestic sale of cement increased by more than 10% due to improvement in economic conditions. Up to 3 million tons of cement was sold in August alone.
