PARIS (AFP) - European stocks shot higher in opening trading on Thursday, benefitting from a Wall Street rally and volatile Chinese markets being closed for a long weekend.
London s FTSE 100 index of leading shares jumped 1.17 to 6,154.12 points, while Paris s CAC 40 index climbed 1.03 percent to 4,601.75 and in Frankfurt the DAX 30 advanced 1.13 percent to 10,161.36.
