Summary Govt policies start bearing fruit, prices of daily use items observe record drops during August
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Government policies have finally started bearing fruit as the inflation rates dipped to 12-year low and a record drop in the prices of daily use items was observed, on Tuesday reported Dunya News.
According to Federal Bureau of Statistics, inflation rate remained at 1.72% during the month of August which is the lowest in the last 12 years. The chicken price was dropped by 17% in August, fresh fruit prices dropped by 9% while onion and grain prices fell by 3%. However, tomatoes, eggs and other vegetables saw rise in the prices.
Chief Statistician Asif Bajwa told that census in the country will start in March 2016 and will be completed within 19 days. Rs. 14.5 billion budget has been demanded from the federal government for census.
