TOKYO (AFP) - Tokyo stocks fell 0.23 percent Tuesday morning after opening in positive territory, as profit-taking set in following four days of gains.

The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 47.66 points to 20,761.03 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 0.13 percent, or 2.25 points, to 1,689.04.
