Summary Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng Index added 365.74 points to 28,426.72 by lunch.

HONG KONG (AFP) - Hong Kong stocks jumped 1.30 percent in the morning session Monday, taking a strong lead from Wall Street, where the Nasdaq and S&P 500 broke new records.

Hong Kong s benchmark Hang Seng Index added 365.74 points to 28,426.72 by lunch on turnover of HK$102.95 billion ($13.28 billion).

In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.87 percent, or 82.00 points, to 4,475.69.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, added 0.15 percent, or 3.35 points, to 2,259.71.
