Summary Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.37 percent to 10,867.61 points.

LONDON (AFP) - European stock markets rose at the start of trading on Tuesday, extending the previous day s gains as London s benchmark FTSE 100 index won 0.76 percent to 6,833.78 points.

Frankfurt s DAX 30 gained 0.37 percent to 10,867.61 points and the CAC 40 in Paris won 0.51 percent to 4,651.07 compared with Monday s close.

Europe s main markets closed higher Monday as Greece s new anti-austerity government sought support for a renegotiation of the country s 240 billion euro ($270 billion) bailout in the face of German opposition.
