Summary Ahmad Jawad says Pak mangoes are approved by DAFF.

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Chief Executive Officer Harvest Trading Ahmad Jawad has said reservations of Australian mango industry on accepting the import of Pakistani mango is a biased approach and as similar to run from competition.

As per details, CEO said that Australian private sector must realize the importance of Pak mangoes and they must welcome with open heart, as our mangoes approved by DAFF (Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry) after lengthy procedure of almost 2 years.

Gavin Scurr from the Australian Mango Industry Association while talking to media said that it s the first time mangoes from Pakistan have come to Australia, and it s the first time foreign mangoes will be in the market during Australia s mango season.

He said that Pakistan s mango industry has a long history of pest and diseases Australia lost the fight with the import risk analysis and it is believed that any risk to our insecurity is too great to take.

"We are playing in a global economy and we have trade agreements with various countries around the world and it s just one of those things we have to live with", he concluded.
