Summary Indonesia has so far signed MRAs with only the US‚ Australia‚ New Zealand‚ Thailand and Canada.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan-Indonesia Preferential Trade Agreement becomes operational from 1st September enabling the two friendly Muslim states to promote bilateral trade.

The last hurdle in the actualization of the treaty was removed by the signing of Mutual Recognition Agreement‚ or MRA‚ on Plant Quarantine and SPS Measures.

The MRA was signed by Ambassador Sanaullah and Head of Indonesian Agricultural Quarantine Agency in Jakarta.

Indonesia has so far signed MRAs with only the United States‚ Australia‚ New Zealand‚ Thailand and Canada.

Under the agreement‚ Pakistan will be able to export its fruit to Indonesia without subjecting it to its Quarantine Rules and Regulations.

This will enhance bilateral trade between the two countries up to two billion dollars annually.
