PARIS (Reuters) - The number of jobless people in mainland France reached a new record high in June, labour ministry data showed on Wednesday, in a fresh blow to President Francois Hollande s pledge to cut down unemployment by year-end.

The worsening of the French job market, which came despite signs this month of a fragile recovery and forecasts that the country has exited a shallow recession, brought the total of unemployed to a new all-time high of 3,279,400.

The labour ministry data are the most frequently reported jobs indicator in France, though it is not prepared according to International Labour Organization (ILO) standards nor expressed as a percentage of job seekers.
