Summary Minister says govt will grant bailout package on May16.

 

KARACHI (Online) - Federal Minister for Industries and Production Shahzada Ahsan Ashraf Sheikh, Thursday, said that bailout package of Rs 11 billion rupees would be granted to Pakistan Steel Mills on May 16.


Bailout package will be provided to Pakistan Steel Mills on May 16, 2013 and Pakistan Steel Mill will com in to 60% production by August 2013” said the minister while speaking at a lunch gathering here, adding, “Karachi is internationally referred as the financial capital of Pakistan which accounts for a lion s share of Pakistan s trade and revenue generation.


He said that the city’s business development was at the top priority of the Government and all steps would be taken in this regard.


This mainly included representatives from Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), Overseas Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI), Korangi Association of Trade & Industry, SITE Association of Industries, Heads of EPZA industrialists units, and other trade bodies. Export Processing Zones Authority hosted the lunch.


On this occasion Federal Minister had a firsthand interaction with the business community and heard their problems. Law and order is at the core of all the issues which the economic hub of the country is facing right now and the government is focused on resolving all such problems.

 

We also need to explore other business avenues in the local and international market to improvise with saturation and other issues. Information technology is the buzz word today and in order to have an effective global reach we have to take big strides in this area. Federal Minister added.


On this occasion Saadat S. Cheema, Chairman EPZA introduced the Federal Minister to the gathering mainly comprising off business community, media and representatives from other walks of life. He personally thanked the Federal Minister for his gracious presence on the occasion which allowed different stake holders in sharing their views.
