The negotiations between Pakistan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) for third tranche of $1.20 billion have ended. Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin said the government would have to immediately increase electricity tariff by 1.6 percent.Talking exclusively to Dunya News, Shaukat Tarin said the government had practically increased power tariff by 4.4 percent instead of announced raise of 6 percent on October. The finance minister said Pakistan still abided by all the conditions of IMF. The tax target for current fiscal year has been raised from Rs 1.38 trillion to Rs 1.395 trillion, he added. Tarin told that salaries of government employees would be increased further in January after a report from Pay and Pension Commission.
