International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde will be in Asia on July 6-12 to meet with authorities in Japan, Indonesia and Thailand, the fund said Thursday.The IMF managing director will deliver a keynote speech at a forum in Tokyo on July 6, and will meet with students at Kyoto University on July 7, IMF spokesman Gerry Rice said.Lagarde will be in Jakarta on July 8-10, and in Bangkok on July 11-12, where she will participate in a seminar organized by the IMF, the Bank of Thailand and the Asian Development Bank.Rice also said that the Washington-based IMF would publish an update of its World Economic Outlook report on July 16.
