Fertilizers sale down in March

Farmers prefer imported fertilizers due to soaring prices in the local market.

According to NDFC, sale of fertilizers in the country dipped by 37 percent during March as estimated sale during the month was recorded at 2, 63,000 tons.NDFC figures revealed that 10, 33,000 tons of fertilizers were purchased during current fiscal year (2011-12).Market analysts suggest that interruption in gas supply and soaring prices are the key factors affecting fertilizers sale.
