Summary Pakistans trade deficit widened to $16 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year
According to the latest figures, mobile phones worth Rs 45.44 billion were imported in the first nine months of the current fiscal year (2011-2012), which has increased by 34 percent as compared to last year’s data.Despite assembling process of the vehicles in the country, July-March recorded import of cars worth Rs 22 billion which has increased by 188 percent as compared to previous figures.Other figures revealed that country’s exports had registered negative growth of over three per cent during the first nine months of the ongoing fiscal year.
