Summary SNGPL has suggested to shut supply of gas to fertilizer factories to enhance electricity production.
According to sources, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines has sent a summary to the government asking for shutting down of supply to four fertilizer factories to enhance supply to power plants for the increase of electricity production.It is stated in the summary that with the shut down of supply to fertilizer factories 207 million cubic feet of gas will be saved which can be supplied to power plants to generate 800MW of electricity.
