ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Sunday met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to discuss the country's overall political situation, developments in the province and matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the two leaders held detailed discussions on strengthening coordination, consultation and cooperation between the federal government and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
The political and administrative situation in the province, along with various national issues, also came under discussion.
Both leaders underscored the need for joint efforts to ensure lasting peace, promote development and improve public welfare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
They also agreed on the importance of closer cooperation between the federation and the province to address key challenges and advance the interests of the people.
Earlier, Faisal Karim Kundi has said that provincial policies will be determined in Islamabad rather than Jalalabad or Kandahar, stressing that decisions concerning the province must be made within Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar on Sunday, the governor expressed full support for operations against terrorism, saying intelligence-based operations were essential to restoring peace.
He said there could be no negotiations with those who take up arms against the state, adding that the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in the province had not been serious about eliminating terrorism.
"We are standing at a point where there is no room for turning back, and defeat is not an option for us," Kundi said.
