ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan has reported its eighth polio case of 2026, with the latest infection confirmed in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) announced.
According to the NEOC, six of the eight cases reported across the country this year have been recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the remaining two were detected in Sindh.

Meanwhile, a sub-national polio vaccination campaign will begin tomorrow in 97 selected districts across Pakistan and continue until November 8, 2026.
The campaign aims to administer polio vaccine drops to more than 24 million children under the age of five.
The NEOC has urged parents to ensure their children are vaccinated during every anti-polio campaign and complete their routine immunisation schedules on time.
It also appealed to all segments of society to support nationwide eradication efforts, emphasising that collective action is essential to protect children from lifelong disability caused by the preventable disease.
