KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves have risen to $21.5 billion, with the State Bank of Pakistan governor expressing confidence that the country’s external reserves will improve further in the coming months.

According to a report published on Monday, the governor said reserves were expected to reach $23 billion by December 2026 and increase to $25 billion next year. He added that the current level of reserves had reached the global benchmark.

The governor also said Pakistan’s external debt stood at approximately $107 billion.

However, the report’s reference to interest payments requires clarification. It states that approximately $11 billion in interest had been paid on foreign debt, but does not specify the period covered by the figure.
