LPG prices have reached Rs550–650 per kilogram in several Pakistani cities, with domestic cylinders exceeding Rs6,000, adding to household expenses amid gas shortages and load-shedding.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Rising liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices have added to public hardships across Pakistan, with the fuel selling for Rs550 to Rs650 per kilogram in several cities, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar. The price of a domestic LPG cylinder has also crossed Rs6,000.

According to sources, LPG prices in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have reached Rs570 to Rs580 per kilogram, forcing households to spend heavily to meet their cooking gas needs.

Prices have also climbed sharply in Lahore, where LPG is being sold for Rs550 to Rs650 per kilogram.

Consumers are struggling to manage household expenses as they continue to pay gas bills while also purchasing expensive LPG amid shortages. The additional cost is putting further pressure on family budgets.

In Quetta, LPG prices have continued to rise. The fuel is selling for Rs550 to Rs600 per kilogram in central areas, while prices in the city's outskirts range from Rs600 to Rs640 per kilogram. The rising cost of LPG and other essential commodities has further increased household expenses.

Meanwhile, residents of Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are facing difficulties due to increased gas load-shedding.

In Mandi Bahauddin, rising LPG prices have also become a source of concern. Daily-wage workers and middle-income households are struggling to meet routine expenses as they are forced to buy gas at higher rates.

High LPG prices across the country are increasing the cost of meeting basic household needs, while gas shortages and load-shedding are adding to the difficulties faced by ordinary consumers.
