KARACHI (Dunya News) - MQM Pakistan leader Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that the movement for the establishment of new administrative units across Pakistan, including Sindh, has entered a decisive phase, with no turning back.
Addressing a meeting on administrative units, Mustafa Kamal announced that Karachi is preparing to hold what he described as the largest gathering in its history on Shahrah-e-Faisal in the coming days to express support for the demand.
He said the movement aims to secure the right of the people of Karachi and Pakistan to live with dignity. Despite Karachi being the country's largest taxpayer, he added, its residents continue to face shortages of basic facilities, including clean drinking water, electricity, public transport, healthcare and quality education.
Mustafa Kamal stressed that the current system could not ensure Pakistan's progress unless stakeholders acknowledged the need for structural reforms.
He described the creation of new administrative units as essential to addressing public grievances and ensuring the provision of basic services.
Meanwhile, MQM Pakistan leader Anis Qaimkhani, speaking at the same meeting, said the party's workers were not disposable commodities but took pride in being part of the movement for the establishment of new administrative units.
