(Web Desk) – Young Bangladeshi fast bowler Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, who was suffering from blood cancer, died in an ambulance while being transferred to Dhaka for better medical treatment, Bangladeshi media reported on Sunday.

Hridoy was a member of the Chattogram Division Under-18 cricket team. He was being moved to the capital for specialised treatment but died before reaching the hospital.

The left-arm fast bowler was regarded as a talented emerging player in Chattogram’s junior cricket circuit.

According to reports, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports had each provided Tk500,000 in July this year to support his treatment. However, despite medical efforts, he could not be saved.
