(Web Desk) - WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new “Mentions and Replies” filter to help users quickly find chats in which they have been mentioned or their messages have received replies.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature is being introduced to some users running WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.42.12.
The new filter will appear in the Chats tab, allowing users to view conversations in which they have been tagged or their messages have been answered. It is expected to make it easier to track important messages in large group chats and communities.
The feature could prove particularly useful for users who receive a high volume of messages and sometimes miss important questions, responses or mentions amid busy conversations.
One of its key features is that relevant chats will remain accessible through the filter even after notifications have been cleared, helping users return to conversations that require their attention.
Users will also be able to customise the feature according to their preferences, with options to disable it through settings or move it to the “More” section.
The “Mentions and Replies” filter is currently being rolled out to a limited number of beta users. WhatsApp has yet to announce when it will become available to all users.
