LAHORE (Dunya News) – Rainfall in several areas of Punjab following showers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has intensified the cold, while more rain and possible hailstorms are forecast in Islamabad and other parts of the country’s upper regions.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, heavy rain lashed Narowal, Shakargarh, Kartarpur, Noorkot and adjoining areas, bringing a noticeable increase in the intensity of cold.

Meanwhile, dark clouds covered the federal capital, Islamabad, from the morning, with light rain reported in some areas.

The Met Department said westerly winds were affecting the country’s upper regions, creating the possibility of further rain accompanied by strong winds in Islamabad and its surrounding areas. Hailstorms may also occur at isolated locations.

The department has forecast scattered rain in upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan today, with hailstorms possible at a few places. Most other parts of the country are expected to experience dry weather.
