RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan all-rounder Arafat Minhas has achieved a notable milestone in One Day International (ODI) cricket after playing a decisive role in his team’s victory over England in the second match of the tri-nation series.
Batting first in Rawalpindi after England won the toss and elected to field, Pakistan scored 302 for nine in their allotted 50 overs. England were subsequently bowled out for 215 in the 39th over.
Minhas delivered an impressive all-round performance, scoring 59 runs during Pakistan’s innings before claiming six wickets for 40 runs to dismantle the English batting lineup.
With this achievement, Minhas became the third Pakistani player to score a half-century and take at least five wickets in the same ODI.
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi achieved the feat three times, while Abdul Razzaq accomplished it once.
Afridi first recorded the double against England in Lahore in 2000, scoring 61 runs and taking five wickets for 40 runs. He also holds the distinction of achieving the feat the most times in international cricket, having done so on three occasions in ODIs.
Razzaq reached the milestone in 2000 against India, scoring 70 runs and claiming five wickets in the same match.
