LAHORE (Dunya News) - A two-year-old child died and another was in a critical condition after allegedly consuming contaminated milk in Nishtar Colony here on Tuesday, police said.
According to SP Model Town Asad Ali, both children were taken to General Hospital for medical treatment.
However, two-year-old Faizan succumbed to his condition, while three-year-old Zain remains under treatment.
Police officials said the children’s parents had purchased raw milk from a local vendor and fed it to the children. Following the incident, police took two milk sellers into custody and collected evidence for further investigation.
Forensic experts have been called in to assist with the investigation, while the Food Department is also being contacted to examine samples of the milk.
Authorities said the exact cause of the children’s death and illness would be determined after the medical reports and laboratory test results become available.
