Updated on:

The inquiry concerns allegations of possessing assets beyond known sources of income, corruption and corrupt practices.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has issued notices under Section 19 of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, as part of an ongoing inquiry involving Dr Amjad Ali, MPA and Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa dysfunctional Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Housing.

The inquiry concerns allegations of possessing assets beyond known sources of income, corruption and corrupt practices.

NAB has summoned four witnesses, Bacha Syed, Muhammad Arif Shah, Siraj Ahmed and Naveed Ahmed, to record their statements and provide relevant documents between October 20 and 22.

The bureau has also sought records relating to the allotment, ownership and payments of plots associated with Islamabad’s Eighteen Housing Society and the Jalozai Housing Scheme.

Additionally, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Accounts Department has been directed to furnish records of Dr Amjad Ali’s salary, allowances, incentives and travel expenses.

NAB has warned that legal action, including prosecution, may be initiated against the relevant individuals if the requested records are not provided.

The inquiry remains focused on the allegations under investigation, and the issuance of summons notices does not, in itself, establish wrongdoing.
