LAHORE: (Dunya News) - Residents of Cavalry Ground and other parts of the city are facing prolonged power outages following the failure of several electricity transformers over the past 36 hours, disrupting daily routines and causing inconvenience to citizens.
According to sources, electricity restoration in some affected areas has been delayed due to technical difficulties in replacing damaged transformers. While replacement transformers are reportedly available, the installation process has been hampered by a damaged crane.
The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of the Cavalry Subdivision said that transformers were available for replacement, but the damaged crane was creating difficulties in carrying out the work.
He added that efforts had been underway for the past 36 hours to address complaints regarding faulty transformers and restore electricity.
Residents have urged the relevant authorities to resolve the issue on a priority basis, saying that the prolonged outages have disrupted their daily activities.
They have also demanded a clear timeframe for transformer replacement and the restoration of electricity.
Citizens have called on the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) administration to ensure the immediate availability of the necessary machinery, remove technical obstacles and expedite repair work.
