PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have reportedly held Sohail Afridi responsible for the failure of the party’s long march, according to details emerging from the party’s core committee meeting.

Sources within the party said the meeting discussed the long march’s failure, the lack of progress in negotiations and the party’s future political strategy.

According to sources, a senior central leader blamed Afridi for failing to inform the party’s central and provincial leadership about plans for the long march, triggering a discussion among participants.

Most attendees reportedly held Mahmood Achakzai responsible for the failure of negotiations, although differing opinions were expressed during the meeting.

The participants also discussed Afridi’s departure from Mardan for the Chief Minister’s House.

One leader questioned the move, prompting a senior party figure to reportedly respond that the chief minister had left Mardan because of the low turnout.

The case of Barrister Saif also came under discussion, with a core committee member proposing that he be given an active role in the party again.

Sources said PTI has convened another core committee meeting to discuss its future strategy and determine the next course of action.
